The following seeding equipment is available for rent to Cooperators:
Person picks up equipment from previous user or equipment can be delivered for $50. User is responsible for greasing equipment and cleanout of unused seed. Out of state users must return planters to New Castle County.
John Deere 1590 No-till Drill
Plants 10 foot wide (travels 10.5’ wide), 3.5 tons empty, has an acreage meter on it.
Plants cool season grasses, switchgrass, legumes, sunflowers, soybeans and has a separate hopper for small seeds (timothy, clovers and alfalfa).
Seed is placed in rows 7.5" apart.
$10.00 per acre (if doing a crosshatch pattern, $5 is charged for the second pass).
Needs 85 horsepower tractor and must have hydraulics.
Can be pulled behind a heavy pickup (no half tons), hitch must be extended beyond bumper to prevent damaging bumper. Supply your own hitchpin.
Brillion Seeder
Plants 8 foot wide (travels 11’+ wide), 1+ ton empty.
Plants legumes, cool and warm season grasses and has a separate hopper for small seeds (timothy, clovers and alfalfa).
Seed is dropped continuously across 8’ width.
$7.00 per acre.
Ground must be worked up first.
Needs a tractor with hydraulics to raise and lower traveling wheels.
Planter can be pulled behind a pickup truck. Supply your own hitchpin.
Great Plains 706 No-till Drill
Plants 7.0 feet wide (travels 9’ 10" wide), 1.9 tons empty.
Plants legumes, cool and warm season grasses and has a separate hopper for small seeds (timothy, clover and alfalfa).
Seed is spaced 7.5 ” apart.
$10.00 per acre.
Needs a 55 horsepower tractor and must have hydraulics.
Planter can be pulled behind a pickup truck. Supply your own hitchpin.
